Every place has the ability to generate both somatic and emotional impulses in us. This creates the opportunity for us to engage in a conversation with a space, to understand its character, story and potential. Blurring the lines between spatial actuality, personal narrative and fiction, I AM SENSITIVE is an attempt to enter into a dialogue with a space, to coalesce with it, to be sensitive.
I AM SENSITIVE was an exhibition at The Vestibules in Bristol City Hall as part of my artist residency there. It consisted of a dialogue with the space in form of a poem, which was recorded in two languages and played on both speakers and headphones. Lines of the poem were printed on images of 3D models of architectural elements of the vestibule, and displayed on a notice board. Click here to listen to the poem.
